“The [Jonathan Adler] light in particular is something I never would’ve thought of for our space, and it’s my favorite thing in this room now.”
– Justine, InteriorCrowd Client
Justine is a wife, a mother, a business owner, and one of InteriorCrowd’s first clients. After moving into a bigger house, the endless decorating possibilities overwhelmed Justine and her lack of decorating experience. The on-the-go mom turned to us for help finding a designer who could provide some guidance on how to create a beautiful new living room that matched her lifestyle and her new home. InteriorCrowd’s flexible online system fit into her busy schedule and the $299 price tag was easy on her wallet after her recent move.
The process began when Justine looked through the InteriorCrowd style guide, where she let designers know what design styles and colors she liked best (traditional, transitional, and orange) and which she couldn’t see herself living in (anything too modern). She snapped a few photos of her living room in its current state, and sent them along with the room’s dimensions and a few more details about the room’s purpose.
While Justine wanted to keep most of her furniture, particularly the leather set that has travelled with her from New York to Atlanta to San Francisco, she was willing to switch out some of the simpler items, like her coffee table and rug. Feeling “open to any suggestions,” Justine wasn’t sure if she was ready to “commit to anything big”.
Justine’s initial thoughts were that she would not have picked any of Jackie’s selections for her house, but she was excited by the rug suggestion. Her first purchase was the orange, cream, and grey wool area rug from Overstock.com. Once Justine saw what an effect it had in the room, she replaced her coffee table with Jackie’s recommendation. “After that, I just bought everything [she] suggested”, Justine told us, saying that “the [Jonathan Adler] light in particular is something I never would’ve thought of for our space, and it’s my favorite thing in this room now.”
Justine’s updated, transitional-style living room is brighter and more colorful with the Jonathan Adler chandelier, bright accents from West Elm, Z Gallerie, and Pier 1, and white coffee table from Overstock.com.
